Women’s Golf Opening Spring Schedule in Florida Monday

Tee times begin at 8:30 a.m. (ET) for the Lady Tigers in Florida.

MEMPHIS – The University of Memphis women's golf team will play in its first event of the spring starting Monday. The Lady Tigers will play 36 holes in the 2017 Central District on Monday, then will wrap up the three-round event Tuesday with 18 holes. Hosted by Michigan State, the tournament is being played at St. Lucie Trail Golf Course in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
THE FIELD: Memphis is one of 14 teams in the field. In addition to host Michigan State, Memphis will be joined by: Augusta University, College of Charleston, Furman, Iowa, Louisville, Maryland, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Rutgers, Toledo and UNC Wilmington.
THE COURSE: The 2017 Central District will be played on the St. Lucie Trail Golf Club. The par-72, 6,256 yard course is in Port St. Lucie, Fla. This will be one of three spring tournaments Memphis is playing in Florida, including the American Athletic Conference championship tournament, Apr. 16-18.
THE TIGERS LINEUP: Sophomore Michaela Fletcher, juniors Emily Goldenstein, sophomore Madison Thomas, senior Leighann Cabush and freshman Abby Herrmann will represent Memphis at this week's event. Herrmann is a Florida native who is part of the Tigers' team entry for the second time in her young Lady Tiger career. She was also a part of the five-player entry in the FIU Pat Bradley Invitational and competed as an individual in two events (Johnie Imes Invitational, Memphis Women's Intercollegiate).
HOW TO FOLLOW: Live scoring will be available on www.BirdieFire.com. First round tee times will go off a shot gun start at 8:30 a.m. (ET). Memphis is teamed with players from Nebraska and Toledo for day one.
