Three Double-Winners Pace Track And Field Friday

Gulley, Jaidi, Vaughn each record two first-place performances.
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – University of Memphis' ToNaya Gulley, Mona Jaidi and Luke Vaughn all were double-winners to pace the Tigers' effort at Southeast Missouri's Redhawks Invitational Friday.
On the women's side, Gulley took first in both the 55 meters (7.41) and 55-meter hurdles (8.43), and Jaidi won the shot put (43-8; 13.31m) and weight throw (53-1.75; 16.20m). For the men's team, Vaughn placed first in the shot put (56-10.25; 17.33m) and weight throw (61-10.5; 18.86m).
Redhawks Invitational Highlights
- Sophomore Jordan Wesner won the men's high jump with a 7-0.5 (2.15m) mark. His season-best jump tied the Southeast Missouri Student Recreation Center facility record.
- In preparation for the heptathlon at next weekend's American Athletic Conference Championships, freshman Lennard Biere posted a season-best pole vault mark of 13-1.5 (4.00m).
- Senior Luke Vaughn 61-10.5 (18.86m) toss in the men's weight throw was a season-best. His 56-10.25 (17.33m) shot put mark was his second-best throw in the event this season.
- Freshman Adam Neelly threw a season-best 56-0 (17.07m) in the men's weight throw.
- Junior ToNaya Gulley ran a personal-best 7.41 in winning the women's 55m. She also ran a season-best 8.43 in placing first in the women's 55m hurdles.
- Freshman Mona Jaidi set season-bests in winning both the women's shot put and weight throw. Jaidi's shot put mark was 43-8 (13.31m), and her weight throw toss was 53-1.75 (16.20m).
- Sophomore Haleigh Montgomery ran a personal-best 7.56 in the women's 55m preliminaries. She placed fifth in the 55m finals (8.44).
- Junior Jasmine Taylor ran a personal-best in the 200m (27.02).
- Other women's performers setting season-bests Friday were Nicole Lawson in the triple jump (38-4.25; 11.69m) and Dorina Baiker in the pole vault (12-9.5; 3.90m).
