Tiger Golf Alum van Meijel Second in Alps Tour Event

AIN SOKHNA, Egypt - Former Memphis Tiger standout and graduate Lars van Meijel stands in second place after two rounds at the Ein Bay Open, played at the Sokhna Golf Course.
van Meijel shot an opening-round 64 on the Par-72 course, which he followed with a 69, putting him just two strokes behind the leader, Alexandre Daydou of France. There are two others, Leo Lespinasse and Julien Brun, who are also tied at ten strokes under par for the two rounds.Â
Two former Tigers - Thomas Perrot (2013-16) and Erwan Vieilledent (2011-14) missed the cut by just one stroke, each placing in a tie of 48th in the field of 116 golfers. Perrot and Vieilledent each carded two consecutive even-par rounds of 72, missing the total cut of one stroke under par.
van Meijel is scheduled in the final pairing of the third day, playing with Daydou, teeing off at 11:37 a.m. local time, 3:37 a.m. central time.
