Martin earns back-to-back weekly honor from AAC

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis junior guard Jeremiah Martin was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll after scoring 26 points in the Tigers' 81-72 loss to Louisville Saturday at Madison Square Garden. Martin tied his career-high in the showcase game of the Houzz Gotham Classic presented by ticketiQ.

Martin also grabbed a career high nine rebounds to earn his second straight selection to the AAC's Weekly Honor Roll.

Martin began the week with 13 points, five steals and four assists in a win over Albany at FedExForum and boosted his season scoring average to 18.1 points with his 26-point effort at Madison Square Garden.

Martin was 8-for-15 shooting against Louisville and made each of his nine free-throw attempts. His 38-minute day at the Garden included three steals, three assists and two blocked shots.

Memphis returns home for three straight – Siena at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Loyola (Md.) at 11 a.m. Saturday and LSU at 8 p.m. Dec. 28 – before opening AAC play Dec. 31 at Cincinnati.

The Memphis-Siena game will carried locally by CW30 and on WREC/Rock 103FM.
