Men’s Soccer Drops Senior Day Match To Tulsa

Memphis recognized six seniors prior to kickoff against the Golden Hurricane
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis men's soccer team fell to Tulsa in its Senior Day match by a score of 6-0 Saturday afternoon at the Billy J. Murphy Track and Soccer Complex. Memphis ends its season with a 4-8-4 overall record and 2-3-2 mark in American Athletic Conference play.
Tulsa scored its first goal in the first minute of play to take an early lead over the Tigers.
As Memphis was gaining more possession, Tulsa capitalized again in the 11th minute to take a 2-0 lead. Goalkeeper Jake Leeker made the initital save before Tulsa's Thomas Wells finished on the rebound.
The Golden Hurricane found the back of the net four more times in the contest to pull away from the Tigers. Memphis had an opportunity in the 33rd minute to cut the deficit to two, but Hector Cantele's header hit the right post and bounced away.
