Tigers Tidbits
- The matches vs. N.C. State and Army are two of a three-match homestretch for the Tigers. Memphis hosts GARC opponent Akron Oct. 14. The Tigers also host No. 1 West Virginia in November.
- This is N.C. State's first visit to Memphis since 2014-15. The Tigers won the match-up. In fact, that 2014-15 meeting is the only home-site encounter between Memphis and N.C. State the last few seasons. The other four recent matches were held at neutral sites in Columbus, Ohio (Buckeye Open), Jacksonville, Ala. (Gamecock Invitational), Lexington, Ky., and Dahlonega, Ga. (North Georgia Tri-Match).
- Monday's match with Army is the Cadets second in three seasons in Memphis. Army shot in the Bluff City in the 2015-16 campaign.
- The 2016-17 Tigers made history when they posted a win over Army on the Cadets' home turf. Memphis won 4652-4641 in West Point, N.Y.
- Memphis defeated the Cadets in both disciplines by narrow margins.
- In that win over Army, Levi Clark logged his second-best marks of the season in both disciplines and aggregate. He shot a 582 in smallbore and a 587 in air rifle for an aggregate of 1169.
- Leighton Dempster placed first in air rifle vs. Army with a 590 score.
- In last season's match vs. the Wolfpack, Memphis won the smallbore discipline 2292-2288. N.C. State, though, came back to win air rifle 2354-2340 and take the match.
- Leighton Dempster posted the team's top air rifle score in the match vs. N.C. State. She was third with a 587.
