Colwill Leads Field at Wahine Invitational

Team is tied for fourth through two rounds.
MEMPHIS – Junior Sydney Colwill carded back-to-back 69s to take a three-stroke lead through 36 holes at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational. At 138, Colwill holds a three-stroke lead over Ole Miss' Julia Johnson and Sacramento State's Nishtha Madan (141). Colwill birdied three, four, seven and 10 in each round to push to -6.
Teammate Madison Thomas is tied for 31st overall after a 150 (71-79). Michaela Fletcher and Abby Herrmann are tied for 37th at 152. Fletcher followed her opening round 74 with a 78 in the second round. Herrmann followed her first round 75 with a 77.
Senior Emily Goldenstein will start her final round from her spot in a tie for 42nd overall. She is one stroke behind her teammates at 153.
Ole Miss leads the team competition at 573 (287-286), three strokes ahead of Grand Canyon (576). Defending tournament champions Sacramento State are third following a day one 586 (300-286). Memphis is tied with Hawaii at fourth with a 590. Memphis fired a 289 in the first round with a 301 in the second round to remain in the top five.
Memphis, Hawaii and Sacramento State will be paired together for the final round. The third round shotgun start will begin at 1 pm.
