Sanchez-Pinto, Zitting earn all-conference honors.
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – University of Memphis seniors Julian Sanchez-Pinto and Arnica Zitting earned all-league honors as both finished among the top-15 at the 2017 American Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships Saturday. The league's annual fall event was held at Belmont Plateau.
Zitting placed 12th in the women's 6k race, and Sanchez-Pinto was 13th in the men's 8k.
The Memphis men's and women's squads both posted eighth-place team finishes.

Tigers Tidbits/American Athletic Conference Championships Highlights
- Seniors Julian Sanchez-Pinto and Arnica Zitting both earned their first All-American Athletic Conference honors of their Memphis careers.
- Zitting took home the second postseason accolade of her collegiate career. As a sophomore at Arkansas State in 2015, Zitting earned All-Sun Belt Conference honors with her 12th-place finish at the league championships race.
- Sanchez-Pinto improved his finish by three spots from last year's conference championships. Â
- Sophomore Paige Sandwell improved her time at the American Athletic Conference Championships by over 35 seconds from last year's performance. She also improved her finish by nearly 30 spots from 2016.
- Senior Megan Briley logged her highest career finish at the American Athletic Conference Championships Saturday.
- Sophomore Gabrielle Byndas improved her time at the league championships by 25 seconds from last season. She also improved her finish by over 20 spots.
- Senior Kristen Adams ran in her first conference championships race since 2015.
- Freshman Lora Gonzalez and Jennifer Taylor competed in their first American Athletic Conference Championships.
- Sophomore Joshua Hamlet ran in his first postseason conference race.
