Women’s Tennis in Final Fall Tourney in Alabama

Two rounds of singles and one round of doubles on tap for Friday.
MEMPHIS – The Memphis women's tennis team will wrap up its fall schedule at the Roberta Alison Fall Classic, Friday and Saturday, at the University of Alabama. The two day event will start Friday with one round of doubles and one round of singles in the morning and then an afternoon singles round following lunch.
Senior Hanna Sohn will play in the Alexa Guarachi Draw and will open against home-standing Smith Hinton of Alabama at 9 a.m., Friday.
Teammate Katherine Cao will open her singles play Friday morning at 9 a.m. against an American Athletic Conference foe Christina Sisti of Tulane in the Titia Wilmink draw.
Three players are top seeds in their respective draws. Laura Bente is the top seed in the Stacey Dodd draw. She will face Alabama State Mirna Curcic, Friday, at 9 a.m. in the opening round of the tournament. Fellow Tiger Claire Sullivan is the top seed in the Cantillon Brasington draw. She will face Indiana's Emma Love Friday morning. Lina Hohnhold rounds out the Memphis top seeds in the Jim Tressler draw. She will face in-state foe Jemima Potter of UT Martin in the opening round.
Josephine Cao will play three rounds in the Karen Gaiser singles draw. She will face Samford's Nadine Villiers, Friday, at 9 a.m.
In doubles play, Sohn and Sullivan will play in the Maya Jansen draw, while Bente and Jo Cao play in the Baili Camino draw as the four seeds. The final pairing of Kat Cao and Hohnhold are the top seeds in the Marouschka Van Dijk draw.
The tournament will conclude Saturday. That schedule of play will start with two rounds of doubles , then a third round of singles after lunch. Should weather delay any rounds of play, Sunday will also be available as a make-up day.
