Men’s Soccer To Host USF Bulls Saturday

Tigers resume conference play at the Billy J. Murphy Soccer Complex against USF
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis men's soccer team will continue its conference schedule as USF comes into town Saturday afternoon. Game time is slated for 1 p.m. at the Billy J. Murphy Track and Soccer Complex. There will be a spatula giveaway to all fans and the first 250 students will receive free pizza.

The Tigers look to continue their winning ways after a 1-0 victory over UCA on Wednesday evening. After controlling possession in the first half, Memphis' efforts culminated in a goal from junior David Zalzman with 31.2 seconds remaining before the break. Assisting on the goal was sophomore Adam Bruce.
The score was Zalzman's second goal of the year, which ties him for the most goals on the team. The home win improves Memphis to 3-7-3 on the year. In conference play, the Tigers are 1-2-1 and are currently sitting in a tie for fifth.
Fourth-year head coach Richard Mulrooney and the Tigers will try to defend their South Campus home on Saturday, where Memphis will play its final two home games. After taking on USF Saturday, the Tigers will celebrate Senior Day against Tulsa on Nov. 4. Goalkeeper Jake Leeker, who earned the clean sheet against UCA, now has 51 saves on the season.
A Look at the Bulls
USF heads to Memphis after suffering a 2-1 loss against FIU Tuesday night. Bradley Farias converted a penalty kick in the 75th minute, scoring the only goal for USF. Farias' goal gives him four for the year, and he becomes the third Bull to successfully convert a penalty kick this season. The decision drops USF to 6-5-1.
In American Athletic Conference matches, USF is 3-1 and currently tied for second with SMU.
The Bulls are led in scoring by Adrian Billhardt, who has five goals in 2017. Altogether, 10 USF players have found the back of the net. Coaching the Bulls squad is head coach Bob Butehorn, who is in his first year at South Florida after coaching at Florida Gulf Coast for 10 seasons.
