Fall Baseball Ratchets Up for Final Four Weeks

Four weeks remain in the Memphis Tigers Fall Baseball schedule and head coach Daron Schoenrock will make sure his team maximizes the remaining dates with 14 live scrimmages scheduled.

"This fall we have taken advantage of added pitching depth to create more realistic three-game series type weekends," Schoenrock said. "This will help us sort out the starting and bullpen roles."

For all 14 of the scrimmages, the coaching staff will name a starting pitcher, but relief outs will not be pre-determined as in past fall schedules. These scrimmages will more closely replicate how a regular-season series will unfold.

The Tigers also spend a portion of the fall taking part in various outreach activities. Memphis joined bat boy John T at the Step Up Walk for Down Syndrome on Oct. 15. Later this fall, Memphis will participate in the Ronald McDonald House Radiothon Oct. 26-27, the ABCA Barnstormers Clinic Nov. 12 and the Jason Motte K Cancer Foundation Cornhole Challenge Nov. 18.

The 14 remaining scrimmages include the annual Garibaldis Series, which begins Friday, Nov. 3 at 3:30 p.m. at FedExPark. All scrimmages are open to the public.
