Women’s Tennis Advances Entries in Singles and Doubles

Katherine Cao advances in singles and doubles draws.
MEMPHIS – Senior Hanna Sohn and sophomore Katherine Cao advanced in singles play and Cao also teamed with Claire Sullivan to advance in doubles play on the opening day of the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships, Thursday.
Sohn downed East Tennessee's Yi Chi Ma, 6-1, 5-7, 6-0 to earn a second round match against UT Martin's Asel Jumamukhambetova at 12:30 pm, Friday.
In the morning, Katherine Cao teamed with Claire Sullivan for a pair of doubles wins. The duo beat the Indiana team of Appel and Whalen, 8-7 (5), then downed the Western Kentucky team of Oest/Dellgarte, 8-4. Cao then won her afternoon singles match, 6-3, 7-6 (2).
Play continues Friday in both doubles and singles and consolation singles play.
