Oct 12, 2017 | Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball
MEMPHIS, Tenn. --While the college basketball practice schedule has already been well underway, Thursday night marked the first time Tigers fans got to see the men's and women's basketball teams in person as part of the Memphis Madness festivities in front of 5,173.
The night opened with a rousing performance by the Mighty Sound of the South and the Memphis Cheer and Pom squads. The women's team was the first to take to the floor for a warm-up before competing in a three-point competition - won by Brea Elmore -Â and a skills competition where Taylor Barnes was victorious.
After full introductions by both teams, the men's team held a three-point contest, and was won by freshman Jamal Johnson before Jimario Rivers won the dunk contest. The Tigers played a brief full-court scrimmage, before the evening was taken over by the performers for the night, Gabrielle Nicole and iHeartMemphis.
