Road Trip Continues To UCF For Women's Basketball

Memphis seeks first American Athletic Conference win this season
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis women's basketball team stays on the road this weekend with a trip to Orlando to take on UCF Saturday afternoon. Tip-off against the Knights at the CFE Arena is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT/2 p.m. ET.

The Tigers are looking to win their first American Athletic Conference game after opening the conference slate with a 0-2 record. Memphis fell to Temple in overtime in the conference opener at home and then dropped a close game to Tulsa on Wednesday. Prior to the start of conference play, Memphis was on a four-game winning streak with a win against a vote-receiving Vanderbilt team on Dec. 28.

After scoring 26 points and snagging 13 rebounds, both career-highs, in the win over Vanderbilt, Cheyenne Creighton was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll. Creighton has been tabbed to the Weekly Honor Roll three times this season. She leads the team with 15.1 points and 7.9 rebounds per game.

In addition to Creighton, two additional players are averaging in double-figures for the Tigers. Brea Elmore is averaging 12.7 points per game and Taylor Williams adds 11.9 per game. Overall, Memphis is scoring 60.5 points per game while allowing 61.7 points per game by its opponents.

Memphis ranks second only to UCF in The American in steals with 9.8 per game. The Tigers also rank fifth in turnover margin at +2.2. Against Temple, Memphis committed a season-low eight turnovers (seven in regulation).
