Live Results/A-State Invitational
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The 47-day layoff from competition showed a little for the University of Memphis track and field squads at last weekend's indoor meet, but the Tigers and head coach Kevin Robinson look for a "bounce-back" this Friday-Saturday, Jan. 27-28 at the A-State Invitational in Jonesboro, Ark.
The A-State Invitational, held in the ASU Convocation Center, is set to begin Friday at 4 p.m. (CT) with field events. The track events start at 6 p.m. (CT). Saturday's action starts at 11 a.m. (CT).
Robinson on this week's meet:
"I want to see improvement this weekend. At last week's meet, we had a handful of good performances, and we also had a handful of not what I was hoping for. I would like to see improvement across the board.
"I want to see us compete harder. I want us to have a little more edge. I want to see us more driven to win. A couple of things I'm looking for this weekend are competitive maturity and tenacity.
"We're training really, really hard. But, that doesn't mean we can't step up and perform at a high level at these meets."
