Morse led the Tigers offensively this season and started in every game
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis freshman soccer player Jackson Morse was listed among the top 100 freshmen in the country by Top Drawer Soccer. Morse, a native of Plano, Texas, made an immediate impact on the Tiger program this past fall.
Â
Morse was named to the American Athletic Conference All-Rookie Team after leading the team offensively with six goals. He also was named The American's Rookie of the Week on multiple occasions as well as the HERO Sports Men's Soccer HERO of the Week after scoring two goals against RV/No. 25 UConn at home.
Â
"For Jackson to have the impact he had with our team on and off the field this past season, I'm not surprised to see him ranked as one of the top freshmen in the country," said head coach Richard Mulrooney. "There is a massive upside to Jackson and I'm extremely excited to watch him develop over the next three and a half years with us."
Â
Morse started in every game for the Tigers this season with almost 1300 minutes of action. His six goals came on just 20 shots and three of them were game-winners. The Tigers finished the 2016 campaign with an 8-8-1 overall record in Mulrooney's third season at the helm of the Memphis program.
