Men’s Tennis Announces 2016 Fall Schedule

MEMPHIS – The University of Memphis men's tennis team is coming in to the 2016 season off of its fourth trip to the NCAA tournament in five seasons and has three new pieces to work in to a lineup that features six returnees. The work of fitting in newcomer Jan Pallares Monreal and redshirt freshmen Matthew Story and Turner Voges will begin this fall. All nine Tigers will play in four events over the fall.

There are seven total tournaments on the Memphis schedule, starting with the Alabama Invitational, Sept. 23-25. The month will close at the Middle Tennessee Shootout Sept. 30-Oct. 2.

The ITA will again host the Saint Francis Health System All-American at the University of Tulsa. The prequalifying draw will be played Oct. 1-2, followed by the qualifying round Oct. 3-4. The main draw in the annual event will begin on Oct. 6^th and will run to Oct. 10^th.

While part of the team is at the ITA All-American, other Tiger entries will make up the field at the Notre Dame Invitational, Oct. 7-9.

The second half of the schedule will start at the Louisville Invitational, Oct. 15-16, followed by the ITA Ohio Valley Regionals, Oct. 20-24^th at the University of Tennessee.

Memphis will close out the fall at the USTA Futures event in Birmingham, Oct. 28-Nov. 1. The Player's Choice Open has been an opportunity for Tigers to get in one last event before the fall semester wraps up.
