Women’s Tennis Opens Season at Mizzou Invitational

Lady Tigers opening fall at fifth annual Mizzou Invitational in Kansas City.
MEMPHIS – The Memphis women's tennis team will open its 2016 fall season this weekend at the fifth annual Mizzou Invitational, joining Louisville, Nebraska and host Missouri in a non-conference hidden dual.
Memphis will open play Friday morning at 9 a.m. in doubles play against player from Louisville. The team will stay in doubles mode an hour later at 10:00, facing players from Nebraska, then will lineup in singles play against the lineup from host Mizzou at 1 p.m. Live scoring for all matches involving Missouri, including Friday's 1 p.m. matches, will be carried live at http://mizzoustats.statbroadcast.com.
On Saturday, the Lady Tigers will again play two rounds of doubles, starting with matches against Nebraska at 9 a.m. and against Missouri at 10 a.m. For singles play, the Memphis lineup will face opponents from Louisville starting at 1 p.m.
The final day of play will feature one round of doubles for Memphis, at 9 a.m. against Louisville, then one round of singles, against Nebraska, at 10 a.m.
The weekend matches will mark the return of redshirt junior Anki Wind to the Memphis lineup after missing most of the spring dual season to injury and will mark the debuts of freshmen Josephine and Katherine Cao and Clara Kuehn.
