Memphis Football Announces Salute to the 901

MEMPHIS – The University of Memphis athletic department Tuesday announced that the football game on Saturday, September 24 against Bowling Green at 7 p.m. is a salute to the 901 area code.
For nine hours and one minute, starting at 9:01 a.m. on Thursday, September 22, until 6:02 p.m., the Memphis athletic ticket office will sell single-game seats to the Bowling Green for just $9.01. In addition, this flash sale will include a spectacular rate of $29.01 for the newly-installed chair back box seats.
During the game, the salute to Tiger fans continues, as the city and the stadium have created a $2 hot dog special. Tiger fans can purchase $2 hot dogs at all participating concession stands during the game. The football coaching staff has also reached out to football programs within the 901 area code and invited them to come to the game. This community outreach effort is expected to bring hundreds of area kids interested in the Memphis Tigers to the game.
"Coach Norvell has made a tremendous effort to engage the local community, and this Salute to the 901 game is another example of our dedication to the Memphis fan base," said athletic director Tom Bowen. "We hope that Tiger fans take advantage of these deals and support this 2-0 football team."

The game is slated for Saturday at 7 p.m., with Tiger Walk at 4:30 p.m. and the pre-game pep rally at the fountain on Tiger Lane at 6:15 p.m.
