Tigers Women's Basketball Wins Second Game On Spain Tour

Five players net double figures in 81-66 victory Saturday.
CASTELLON DE LA PLANA, Spain – An early University of Memphis women's basketball 2016 Spain Tour checklist:

On Saturday, Taylor Williams led five Tigers in double figures with 17 points to lift Memphis to an 81-66 victory over Combinado Valenciano. Brea Elmore, Cheyenne Creighton and Taylor Barnes each added 11 points, and Loysha Morris scored 10 points. Barnes was 3-of-3 from the international three-point arc.
Creighton nearly had a double-double with a game-best nine rebounds to go along with her 11 points. She also had five steals. Williams handed out a team-best six assists and added five steals. Ashia Jones had nine points, six boards, five assists and five steals.
Combinado Valenciano held a 19-17 lead after the first quarter, but Memphis gained the advantage at 41-38 by halftime. In the third period, the Tigers increased their advantage to 63-47 and maintained that lead throughout the final quarter on the way to an 81-66 victory.
Memphis shot 45.2 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from the arc (6-of-14). The Tigers out-rebounded the home squad 46-31.
The Tigers are off from play Sunday as they travel to Barcelona. Memphis' third game of the tour is Monday, Aug. 15 against the Barcelona Region All-Stars.
