The Quest For Olympic Gold Continues

Fomer Tiger Pujats in Olympic men's pole vault finals Monday.
RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil – And, the quest for Olympic gold continues for former University of Memphis track and field standout Pauls Pujats.
Late Saturday night, Pujats, a member of the Latvian national team, placed 10th in the men's pole vault, with the top-12 qualifiers advancing to Monday's event finals. The men's pole vault finals are scheduled for 6:35 p.m. (CT) Monday.
Tyler Fraizer, a Memphis assistant coach, is a member of the Latvian track and field coaching staff.
Pujats moved on to the finals with a vault of 18-4.5 (5.60m). He cleared the height on his first attempt.
The 2015 University of Memphis graduate also cleared 17-4.5 (5.30m) and 17-10.5 (5.45m) on his first attempts at those heights.
