Tigers Track And Field Earn Team Academic Accolades

Men's, women's squads receive honors for fifth-straight year.
NEW ORLEANS, La. – For the University of Memphis men's and women's track and field programs, striving for excellence in both the arena of competition and in the classroom is becoming the norm under head coach Kevin Robinson.
In addition to a tremendous season of competition in 2015-16, the Tigers men's and women's squads both earned U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team honors, the organization announced Thursday. It is the fifth-consecutive season both teams received the national recognition.
Memphis is one of five American Athletic Conference institutions to have both its men's and women's track and field programs earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Team accolades. Overall, 122 men's teams and 220 women's squads were honored.
The Tigers women's team posted a 3.52 grade-point average (GPA), the highest among the five American Athletic Conference schools that made the list. Memphis' 3.52 GPA was 25th nationally and ranked among the top-15 percent in the country. The Memphis men's squad had a 3.09 GPA.
