Sneed Named Recipient of N4A McLendon Scholarship

Coordinator of Tiger PAWS program named one of two recipients of national scholarship.
MEMPHIS – Cornell Sneed, the Coordinator of the Tiger PAWS program and a member of the academic advising staff at Memphis, was named a recipient of a N4A McLendon Scholarship it was announced by the John McLendon Scholarship Foundation, Thursday. Sneed is one of two recipients of a $10,000 scholarship sponsored by the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A) as part of the McLendon scholarship program.
A standout thrower on the Buccaneer track and field team, Sneed graduated from East Tennessee State in 2012. The recipient of several academic honors, he was named the ETSU Diversity Scholar of the Year in 2009 and received men's track and field Academic MVP honors in 2012. A magna cum laude graduate, with a degree in criminal justice and criminology, he also served as team captain during his senior year at ETSU.
After his undergraduate graduation in 2012, he served as a graduate assistant and as the Assistant Academic Advisor at East Tennessee State from 2012 until 2014. During that time, he completed a pair of master's degrees, earning an M.A. in Sports Management from East Tennessee State and an M.S. degree in Academic Advising from Kansas State.
A native of Miami, Florida, Sneed joined the staff at Memphis in 2014 and serves as the lead advisor for Memphis' Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) as well as brander and co-coordinator of the Tiger PAWS Student-Athlete Leadership Institute. He also serves as the PAWS program coordinator, helping Memphis student-athletes in community service and life skills development
He is currently pursuing his doctorate in Global Sport Leadership at ETSU.
