Summer Baseball Update – June 29

The strong summer season has continued for the numerous Memphis baseball players scattered across the country.
Young pitchers Bryan Cruse, James Muse and Tyler Walton were each outstanding in their most recent starts on the mound. Cruse worked seven scoreless innings, allowing four hits with nine strikeouts for the Licking County Settlers. Muse also pitched seven scoreless frames and struck out nine batters while allowing just two hits for the Brockton Rox. Walton has been a big part of the Hoptown Hoppers' great season, as he pitched eight scoreless innings to lower his ERA to 0.96.
Reliever Drew Crosby has a 1.35 ERA in 6 2/3 innings pitched with seven strikeouts. The left-hander didn't allow a run over his first five appearances.
Versatile newcomer Kyle O'Keefe is batting .342 in 21 games for the Hoptown Hoppers. O'Keefe has two doubles, three home runs, 18 runs scored and 14 RBI.
Catcher Jason Santana has a .327 batting average for the Springfield Sliders. He currently has a four-game hitting streak with two hits in each of the games. Santana has seven multiple-hit games this season.
