Athletics Nearing 901 New Donors Goal

Tigers 45 donors shy of mark established 20 months ago.
MEMPHIS – The 901 Campaign launched in September of 2014 with the goal of adding 901 new members in to the Tiger Scholarship Fund (TSF). As of Tuesday, the University of Memphis Athletic Department is just 45 donors shy of accomplishing that goal.
"The addition of new TSF donors during the past 20 months has been brisk, with an average of two new donors per business day. The wave of excitement for our two new coaches in Mike Norvell and Tubby Smith, along with our new facilities campaign, and our recent athletics success has definitely spurred this growth," stated Dr. Adam Walker, Senior Associate AD for Development.
The Tiger Scholarship Fund, which is nearing completion of its 2015-2016 fundraising effort, is responsible for fundraising support each year that covers the cost of scholarships and related expenses for the almost 400 student-athletes at the University of Memphis. This annual amount is nearly $8 million to cover the cost of funding student-athlete scholarships to the university.
Current Tiger Scholarship Fund members are encouraged to help identify new members and TSF will offer priority points for members who help land new donors (five priority points per new member) in an effort to reach the 901 goal.
More information on supporting the Memphis Athletic Department is available by calling the Tiger Scholarship Fund at 901-678-2334 or by emailing tsf@memphis.edu. New members may join the 901 Campaign by donating at www.memphis.edu/tsf. Each new donor receives a new member package, however a special prize will be awarded to the 901st new donor.
