FORMBY, England - Lars van Meijel halved his match with Derek Bard (University of Virginia), as Team Europe won the 2016 Palmer Cup by a 18.5-11.5 final score at the Formby Golf Club.

A 2016 Golf Coaches Association of America All-American, van Meijel ended the 2015-16 season with a 71.16 stroke per round average, lowest in the program's all-time history. His -10 at the Quail Valley Collegiate was the lowest round to par in program history, and his career average of 72.6 strokes per round stand second in the history of the program.
