Tigers Track And Field Senior Salute: Brandon Keys

Keys sets two personal-bests in the 2016 outdoor season.
Over the next two weeks, University of Memphis Tigers men's and women's track and field is celebrating the program's 12 seniors with a salute to each.

Head coach Kevin Robinson on Keys:
"Brandon has competed in the cross country and indoor and outdoor track seasons. As with our other distance performers, he's gone through a couple of different distance coaches. Brandon has had some ups and downs in his career, but he's put together a couple of personal-best performances his senior season. He's done a great job bouncing back his senior year and making an impact. He has a successful future ahead of him."

Career Highlights
- Competed in cross country and the indoor and outdoor seasons throughout his career
- Set personal-best in both the 1500 and 5000 meters his senior season
- Ran a personal-best 4:06.35 in the 1500 meters at the War Eagle Invitational
- Set his personal-best in the 5000 meters (15:40.58) at the Memphis Invitational
- Ran in the NCAA South Regional for the first time in his career in 2015
- As a sophomore in 2015, recorded an 8k personal-best 24:41.10 at the Vanderbilt Commodore Cross Country Classic
- Member of Tigers cross country squad that earned U.S. Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team distinction all four years (2012-15)
- Member of the Tiger 3.0 Club at Memphis
- A Biomedical Engineering major
