MEMPHIS IN THE NCAA REGIONALS
Since 2008, the Tigers have competed in six NCAA Regionals (including this one). In 2012 the team placed fifth, and earned a berth to the NCAA Championships. Below is a list of NCAA Regional Appearances, where they were located, and how the Tigers fared.
NATIONAL QUALIFYING
The top five teams in the team standings get an automatic berth into the NCAA Championships, to be held in Eugene, Oregon from May 27 through June 1 by the University of Oregon. Additionally, the best individual player not on one of the NCAA advancing teams will also be invited to the Championships as an individual.
AMERICAN CONFERENCE FINISH
Memphis' second-place finish at the 2016 American Athletic Conference Championship was the best finish in a conference tournament since the 2011-12 team (the same team that later advanced through the NCAA Regionals and into the NCAA Championships) won the Conference USA title.
ALL-CONFERENCE PAIR
This week it was announced that Lars van Meijel and Thomas Perrot were each named to the All-Conference team for the American Athletic Conference. It was the second and third All-Conference selections into the American Conference for Memphis, and the first since 2013-14.
