Six Tiger pitchers allow 12 Razorback runs

Jonathan Bowlan started and pitched 4 2/3 innings, allowing four earned runs on seven hits. Five other Tiger pitchers – Hunter Smith, Trey McNickle, James Muse, Colton Neel and Nolan Blackwood – combined to throw the final 4 1/3 innings of the game.
Arkansas snagged the lead in the top of the first after a pair of errors at shortstop. The Tigers were able to turn a double play to end the inning after allowing just one run despite the errors.
The Razorbacks went right back to work in the second as they scored four more runs, starting with a one-out solo home run to left field by left fielder Luke Bonfield, to make the score 5-0.
Memphis threatened in the third after Damo DeMatteo singled and Jake Overbey walked to put two runners on base with one out. They advanced into scoring position with two outs but were stranded after Arkansas went to the bullpen.
The Tigers got on the board in the fourth on a two-run double by first baseman Jacob Elliott. Right fielder Jake Little and designated hitter Andy Bowman both got on base in front of Elliott.
Memphis starting pitcher Jonathan Bowlan settled down some after a tough first two innings. He retired seven straight at one point before getting into trouble in the fifth.
Arkansas tacked on a run with two outs in the top of the fifth after a single and a double off of Bowlan. The Tigers called on freshman left-hander Hunter Smith who quickly got out of the inning.
The Tigers had another chance to cut in the Razorbacks' lead in the fifth but left two runners on base.
The Razorbacks put two more runs on the board in the sixth inning off of Smith. Trey McNickle entered the game out of the bullpen and got the Tigers out of the inning. Arkansas added two more in the seventh off of reliever James Muse to make the score 10-2. They finished their scoring with two more runs in the eighth off of Colton Neel.
Memphis got a run back in the eighth inning after Schritenthal led off the inning with a double and Little singled to put two on with nobody out. Grudzielanek drove in the run with a single to left field.
Nolan Blackwood pitched a scoreless top of the ninth in relief.
Jason Santana smacked the first extra-base hit of his young career to start the bottom of the ninth. He came around to score on an RBI single by Tubbs to make the score 12-4.
