Women’s Golf Second Round Match Suspended at SDSU

Second round resumes at 7:45 a.m. (PT), Tuesday.

MEMPHIS – Second round play in the San Diego State University March Mayhem tournament was suspended due to darkness. Memphis was playing its first match in the consolation bracket after falling to third-seeded Arizona in the first round.

In the opening round against No. 9 ranked Arizona, Memphis fell 5-0, but stood tough with the Wildcats. The Wildcats' Haley Moore downed Ashleigh Whisenant 5&3, while teammate Jessica Vasilic downed Emily Goldenstein 3&1. Gigi Stoll edged Madison Thomas 2&1. Leighann Cabush fell 4&2 to Lindsey Weaver and Colwill was 1-down in her opening round match.

In the second round, also the first in the consolation bracket, Memphis was facing number 15 Cal. Madison Thomas was all square through 13 holes when second round play was called, while Colwill was 1-down through 14.

The second round will resume Tuesday at 7:45 a.m. (PT). Round three will follow no sooner than 9 a.m. (PT).
