Cincinnati comes into the Saturday morning game having won four straight games, including most recently an 88-57 win over USF at home on Thursday evening.
In the win over the Bulls, six players reached double-figures in the scoring column, and two had double-doubles. Troy Caupain led the team with 18 points while dishing out 10 assists, as Gary Clark scored 16 points with a game-high 13 rebounds. Jacob Evans and Coreontae DeBerry each scored 11 points while Octavius Ellis and Farad Cobb each scored 10.
For the season, Cobb leads three players averaging double-figure scoring with 11.7, while Caupain is just behind at 11.5. Clark averages 10.5 with Ellis just off of the double-figure pace at 9.8 tallies per contest.
Clark pulls down a team-best 8.5 rebounds per game, as Cincinnati out-rebounds its opponents by an average of 5.3 rebounds per game. Capuain has dished out 107 assists, while Clark leads the team with 27 steals.
After games as of February 1, the Memphis Tigers have the seventh-fastest offense in NCAA Division I basketball, averaging 75.4 possessions per game, and have the fifth quickest possession length in the country. Cincinnati forward Octavius Ellis grew up in Memphis, and his dad, Jerell Horne played for the Tigers from 1992-94. Horne, a 6-8 forward/center who played his prep basketball at Westwood High School, scored 126 points in his first season with the Tigers while adding 86 rebounds over 32 games during the season. A year later he played in 20 games, starting eight times, and averaged 4.3 points and 2.9 rebounds per game.
Memphis is preparing for its third game this season in which the team had just a day break between the contests, and the Tigers are 2-0 in the previous two such meetings this season (November 19 against Grambling State and January 26 at UCF). Over the last 16 regular season, non-tournament games with such a narrow turnaround, the Tigers are 15-1.
The Tigers have played against nine of the 13 NCAA Division I schools within the state of Ohio, and have a 48-61 all-time record in those games. The largest portion of games have come against Cincinnati, where the Tigers are 31-40 all-time.

Against Ohio State on November 27, Memphis senior forward Shaq Goodwin became the 50th member of the program's 1,000-point club with an ally-oop dunk with eight minutes remaining in the first half. He now has 1,258 career points, which puts him 21st in the school record book, and stands 11 away from climbing into sole possession of 19th all-time. Below is where Goodwin stands, and the two former standouts ahead of him in the record book.
