Tigers Rifle Ranked No. 9 For Fifth-Straight Week

Memphis preparing for NCAA Sectional Qualifier this weekend.
MURRAY, Ky. – For the 12th time this season, the University of Memphis rifle team finds itself in the top-10 of the Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) poll. The Tigers are ranked No. 9 for a fifth-consecutive week.
Out of 13 weeks the CRCA poll has been released this season, the Tigers have been ranked in the top-10 in 12 of them. Memphis' highest ranking this season was No. 6 in the Oct. 13 poll. The lone week the Tigers dropped out of the top-10 was Nov. 10. That week, Memphis was ranked No. 12.
Three-time NCAA champion West Virginia continues to hold down the No. 1 spot. Murray State is No. 2, followed by Kentucky and TCU tied at No. 3.
All nine Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) programs are in this week's poll with West Virginia at No. 1, followed by No. 3 Kentucky, No. 8 Nebraska, No. 9 Memphis, No. 10 N.C. State, No. 12 Army, No. 14 Navy, No. 15 Ole Miss and No. 16 Akron.
Memphis returns to action Feb. 20 when it travels to Murray, Ky., to compete in the NCAA Sectional Qualifier. The Tigers' last competition was a Feb. 9 GARC dual-match victory over Ole Miss.
