Taylor Williams Named To American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll

Williams led the Tigers this week to a win over Northwestern State
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis guard Taylor Williams has been named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for her play this past week. Williams led the Tigers to a 1-1 record this week while averaging 15.0 points per game. This is the first time in her career that she has been recognized by the American Athletic Conference for her on the court performance. Â

Against Northwestern State, Williams led all players on the floor with 16 points. She finished the night going 2-for-6 from beyond the arc and also was credited with two assists. The win against Northwestern State snapped a three-game skid for the Tigers.

Williams continued to lead the Tigers at home on Sunday by scoring a team-high 14 points. So far in every home this year, Williams has scored in double figures and leads the team at home by averaging 14.5 points per game. Eleven of her 12 made three-pointers this season are at the Elma Roane Fieldhouse.

Memphis has just one game this week and it's on the road at Southern Illinois on Dec. 11. Tip-off against the Salukis is at 2 p.m. and will be broadcasted on ESPN3. The Tigers are then at home for the next five games, including on New Year's Day to open up conference play.
