Greenlee Named League's Female Field Athlete Of The Week

Senior has nation's fifth-best triple jump mark this season.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – University of Memphis' Chardae Greenlee has been named the American Athletic Conference co-Female Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday. Greenlee shared the honor with Cincinnati's Annette Echikunwoke.
It is Greenlee's second career conference indoor Athlete of the Week accolade and her fourth career league recognition overall. She also has earned two outdoor Athlete of the Week honors in her career.
At the Dec. 3 Vanderbilt Opener, the Hazelcrest, Ill., native won the triple jump and also placed seventh in the long jump. Greenlee was the Tigers' top finisher in both events.
Greenlee won the triple jump with a mark of 41-1.75 (12.54m) and posted an 18-6.5 (5.65m) effort in the long jump. It was the first time in the senior's career that she placed in the top-10 in both events at the same indoor meet.
Her triple jump mark is the fifth-longest in NCAA Division I so far this season. Her long jump is tied for 57th nationally.
Greenlee is the two-time triple jump runner-up at the American Athletic Conference Indoor Championships in 2015 and 2016. She earned All-America accolades in the triple jump at the 2015 NCAA Indoor Championships.
The Tigers men's and women's track and field squads now break for the Christmas and New Year's holidays and return to action Jan. 20-21, 2017, at the Vanderbilt Invitational in Nashville, Tenn.
