Tigers Rifle Up Two Spots In National Poll

No. 12 Memphis shoots in Buckeye Open Saturday.
MURRAY, Ky. – The University of Memphis rifle squad is ranked No. 12 in this week's Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) poll. The Tigers moved up two positions from No. 14 in last week's CRCA poll.
In 2016-17, the Tigers have an 11-2 record against opponents ranked in the CRCA poll. In addition, Memphis has a 5-1 mark against Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) foes, including road wins at No. 13 Army and No. 16 Navy. The other three GARC wins were over No. 9 Ole Miss twice and No. 14 Akron.
Memphis last competed Nov. 5 when it fell at No. 1 West Virginia.
Four-time NCAA defending champion West Virginia is No. 1 in this week's poll. Kentucky is No. 2, followed by Murray State at No. 3, Air Force at No. 4 and TCU at No. 5.
All nine Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) programs are in the poll with West Virginia at No. 1, followed by No. 2 Kentucky, No. 7 Nebraska, No. 9 Ole Miss, No. 9 N.C. State, No. 12 Memphis, No. 13 Army, No. 14 Akron and No. 16 Navy.
Memphis returns to action this Saturday, Nov. 12 when it travels to Columbus, Ohio, to shoot in the Buckeye Open.
