Morse Adds One More Weekly Accolade To Resumé Friday

Jackson Morse was named the HERO Sports Men's Soccer HERO of the Week

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Freshman midfielder Jackson Morse added another weekly accolade to his resumé Friday afternoon after being named the HERO Sports Men's Soccer HERO of the Week. Morse started the week off by being named the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week before being named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week on Wednesday.

Morse led the Tigers last weekend in the 2-0 shutout victory over RV/No. 25 UConn. The Plano, Texas native scored both of Memphis' goals against the Huskies to put him at a team-high six goals scored this season.

Earlier this season, Morse had been named The American Rookie of the Week, but this was the first week he was dibbed the Offensive POW honors. The last Tiger to earn the honor was Mark Sherrod in 2013.

The Tigers take on Tulsa in a must-win match tonight (Nov. 4) at 7 p.m. With a victory, Memphis has a chance to qualify for next week's four-team American Athletic Conference Championship in Tampa, Fla.
