Nov 30, 2016 | Baseball
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The University of Memphis baseball team will host its 2017 Winter Camp on Saturday, January 14 and Sunday, January 15, head coach Daron Schoenrock announced today. The two-day camp is for players in seventh grade and higher only, and will take place at FedExPark (974 Getwell Rd.) on Memphis' Park Avenue campus.
Â
"This is a great opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to see how a division I baseball program is run and what it takes to be a college baseball player. For the younger players, it is also a great way to see what it's like to play college baseball and the time and effort it takes to get to this level," assistant coach and camps coordinator Drew Martinez said.
Â
Campers will receive professional instruction on hitting, pitching and catching from camp staff, which will include Tiger baseball coaches, and current players. The first day, Jan. 14, will include instruction for pitching and catching training, while Day Two is slated for hitters and position players.
Â
Camp fees are $110 per day, or $190 for both days of instruction. These costs include instruction, facility use, secondary insurance, lunch and a t-shirt.
Participants should bring their baseball glove, hat, bat, pants, batting gloves, cleats and tennis shoes.

Campers are encouraged to sign up online at http://www.memphistigersbaseballcamps.com/index.php
