Former Tiger Pair Set for Second Stage of Professional Qualifying

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Former Memphis golf standouts Thomas Perrot and Lars van Meijel are each set to participate in the second stage of qualifying for the Eurpoean Tour.
Both are having their qualifying stage at the same location, the Panoramica Golf and Sport Resort in Castellon, Spain, and will begin on November 4 and end on November 7.
"This is a big week for Lars and Thomas," said Memphis head golf coach Blake Smart. "I know all Tigers are rooting for them. They have the ability and skill to play at the professional level and I look forward to supporting them and following their careers."
Each were named to the All-American Athletic Conference team in addition to earning PING All-Region honors. van Meijel was also named a Golf Coaches Association of American (GCAA) All-America for his performance during in 2015-16.
van Meijel set the school record for a low tournament to par, with a -10 at the Quail Valley Collegiate, while also setting the record for the lowest single-season stroke average in program history, narrowly edging out Perrot by less than a tenth of a stroke (71.759-to-71.827).
