"We're excited to be at home," said head coach Melissa McFerrin. "We've had some bumps and bruises both physically and ego-wise, it's great for us to be at home and feel the comfort of the Elma Roane Fieldhouse and our fans."
Â
Memphis returns to Elma Roane this week after spending the Thanksgiving holiday in Reno, Nev. competing in the Nugget Classic hosted by Nevada. The Tigers played Arkansas and Nevada in the tournament, falling in both games. With just over a minute to play, Memphis overcame a 10-point deficit to tie Nevada, but ultimately fell in regulation. Â
In its history, Northwestern State has won three Southland Conference regular season titles, three Southland Conference Tournament titles including the 2015 season, and have earned a berth to the NCAA Tournament four times.
