Dedric Lawson Named to American Conference Honor Roll

Lawson had three double-doubles in three games during the week. He is the only player in the NCAA currently with three double-doubles in their teams' first three games. Lawson scored at least 19 points in every game during the week, while also dishing out at least two assists in every game.
For the week, he averaged 21.0 points, 13.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.7 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game, while shooting 47.1 percent from the field (24-of-51), and 12-of-18 from the charity stripe (66.7 percent).
In the opening game of the season for the Tigers, he scored 19 points on 5-of-12 shooting from the field, and made 8-of-11 free throws against UTRGV. He pulled down 15 rebounds in the game with two assists, a blocked shot and two steals. Two days later he scored a season-high 23 points, making 10-of-21 shots and 2-of-3 from beyond the arc, as he pulled down 10 rebounds with two assists, two blocked shots, and two steals. In his week finale, he scored 21 points while grabbing 14 rebounds. He hit half of his 18 shots, and 3-of-4 from the free throw line, and dished out a career-high seven assists while blocking a shot and adding a steal.
The Tigers are a perfect 3-0 on the season, and host McNeese on Tuesday evening in a 7 p.m. tip-off at FedExForum.
