Promotional Activities Set for Men's Basketball Home Opener

Million Meals Challenge, bobbleheads and $5.00 tickets on tap.
MEMPHIS – The University of Memphis has teamed with participating area Kroger stores to sell $5 men's basketball tickets for the Tigers' season opener and the first 5,000 fans will receive a free Tubby Smith bobblehead, courtesy of Regional One Health. Memphis opens its 2016-17 season against UTRGV on Nov. 14 at 7 pm at FedExForum.
In support of the Mid-South Food Bank Million Meals Challenge, the Tigers will offer a special $5 game ticket available exclusively at 35 area Kroger stores. The Tigers will donate $1 from each ticket sold at the Guest Services desks of area Kroger stores to this worthwhile charity.
In addition to the $5 tickets, the Tigers will celebrate the first game of the Tubby Smith era by giving away 5,000 Tubby Smith bobbleheads, courtesy of Regional One Health.
Tickets for the UTRGV game will be on sale at Kroger stores throughout the Memphis area beginning Monday, November 7. There will be 35 Kroger stores across three states and 16 cities selling these special tickets. In previous years, many store locations sold out of their allotment of tickets, so fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets early. Fans looking for premium seats outside of the $5 price locations should contact the Memphis ticket office at 901-678-2331.
The Tigers will play an exhibition game against Christian Brothers University on Monday, November 7. Fans can get buy-one, get-one free tickets at the Memphis athletic ticket office for that special event.
