Tigers Rifle No. 13 In National Poll

Memphis to shoot in Gamecock Invitational Sunday.
MURRAY, Ky. – The University of Memphis rifle squad is ranked No. 13 in this week's Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) poll. The Tigers slid down only one spot from its No. 12 position in last week's CRCA poll.
In 2016-17, the Tigers have an 11-7 record against opponents ranked in the CRCA poll. In addition, Memphis has a 5-2 mark against Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) foes, including road wins at No. 7 Army and No. 16 Navy. The other three GARC wins were over No. 11 Ole Miss twice and No. 14 Akron.
Memphis last competed Nov. 12 and placed fifth in the Buckeye Open. The Tigers also dropped a GARC dual-match decision to No. 12 N.C. State at the same event.
TCU returned to the top position in this week's poll. Murray State is No. 2, followed by West Virginia at No. 3, Kentucky at No. 4 and Air Force at No. 5.
All nine Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) programs are in the poll with West Virginia at No. 3, followed by No. 4 Kentucky, No. 7 Army, No. 9 Nebraska, No. 11 Ole Miss, No. 12 N.C. State, No. 13 Memphis, No. 14 Akron and No. 16 Navy.
Memphis returns to action this Sunday, Nov. 20 when it travels to Jacksonville, Ala., to shoot in the Gamecock Invitational.
