Women's Basketball Announces Three Signees

Alana Davis, Finess Dickson, Jada Stinson all join the Tiger squad
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis women's basketball team and head coach Melissa McFerrin announce the signing of three players, Alana Davis, Finess Dickson, and Jada Stinson, during the early signing period.

"I am pleased to officially welcome Alana, Finess, and Jada to the University of Memphis for the early signing period," said McFerrin. "These three young ladies bring championship basketball pedigree, academic scholarship, and toughness to our locker room. We anticipate early contributions from this class both on and off the court."

Augusta, Ga. | Cross Creek High School

A four-star post player by Peach State Basketball, Davis is ranked No. 42 in the nation in her position by ESPN.com. Davis enters her senior year at Cross Creek High School where she has already earned multiple accolades in her first three seasons. The Augusta, Ga. native was named First-Team All-Region in 2016 after a stellar junior season and Second-Team All-Region in 2015. Davis is also an All-State Class AAAAA Second-Team and Honorable Mention selection and she was named to the GACA All-Star Basketball Team.

In three seasons at Cross Creek, Davis has improved each year. Davis finished her junior campaign averaging 22.2 points and 12.0 rebounds per game, both career-highs. In addition, Davis also registered 2.4 blocks per game during the 2015-16 season. She started her career off by contributing 6.1 points per game her freshman year and 14.8 ppg her sophomore season.

Davis, a two-sport athlete, has also played volleyball in her time at Cross Creek High School. She was a member of the Georgia Sting AAU squad coached by former Duke Blue Devil, Will Avery.

Finess Dickson
5-6 | Point Guard
Chicago, Ill. | Homewood-Flossmoor High School

Dickson, a three-star recruit, enters into her senior year as the No. 82 ranked point guard by ESPN.com in the country. As a freshman at Whitney Young High School, Dickson helped lead her team to a 2014 State Championship. While at Whitney Young her first three seasons of high school, the Dolphins were City Champions in 2014 and 2015.

Upon transferring to Homewood-Flossmoor High School for her senior season, she was a nine points, five assists, and five steals student-athlete for her career.

During her sophomore and junior years, Dickson was named to the Whitney Young Honor Roll. Last year, she was a member of the Midwest Elite AAU squad, who belonged to the Nike Girls Elite Youth Basketball League (GEYBL).

Jada Stinson
5-8 | Guard
Elizabethtown, Ky. | Elizabethtown High School

Stinson will join the Tigers next season as a three-star recruit and ranked No. 23 in the nation in her position by ESPN.com. A three-year letterwinner, Stinson has led her team to three All-District titles and three All-Region titles in her time at Elizabethtown High School. She was named to the All-District in 2016 as well as All-Region in 2015 and 2016. In 2016, she was also garnered Second-Team All-State honors.

As a junior, Stinson helped lead her team with 14 points, three rebounds, four assists, three steals, and two blocks per game. She has recorded multiple 20+ point performances including a career-high 28 points last season.

Stinson was a member of the West Virginia Thunder AAU squad. In the classroom, Stinson carries a 3.5 GPA.
