Former Golf Standout van Meijel Fighting to Qualify for European Tour Card

Former Tiger standout Lars van Meijel has advanced past the first stage of qualifying for the European Tour.
van Meijel claimed second place after the first stage, closing the opening qualifying stage with a seven under par 65, reaching 14 strokes under par for the tournament.
He is one of 29 players to play at the Bogogno Golf Resort in Italy to advance to the second stage.
van Meijel is the second former Tiger to advance a round in a qualifying attempt for the European tour, as former teammate Thomas Perrot advanced to the second round in late September.
