Morse, Leeker Garner AAC Player of the Week Honors

Jordan Klipsch also named to American Weekly Honor Roll
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – After defeating RV/No. 25 UConn Saturday at home by a score of 2-0, three University of Memphis men's soccer players have been recognized by the American Athletic Conference for their achievements.

Jackson Morse earned the team's first Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season, Jake Leeker was named the Goalkeeper of the Week for the second time this season and Jordan Klipsch was named to the Weekly Honor Roll.

Morse led the Tigers Saturday night with a career-high two goals. He scored one goal in the first half and one in the second half to lead the Tigers to the second-straight victory over UConn. Morse scored both goals on just two shots.

He continues to lead the team with six goals which ranks fourth overall in the American and tied for first among freshmen. This is the second time this season he has been recognized by the conference. He is the first AAC Offensive Player of the Week since Mark Sherrod was recognized on Sept. 23, 2013.

Leeker posted his sixth solo shutout Saturday with five saves. His five saves added to his total of 71 saves this season which is the most in a year in his career. Leeker has started in all 16 matches for the Tigers and has faced a total of 203 shots.

Klipsch was credited with his first career assist on Morse's second goal of the match. In the opening minute against UConn, Klipsch was responsible for the team save that kept UConn from getting on the board first.

The Tigers have one regular season match remaining on the schedule in Tulsa next Friday. Kick-off against the Golden Hurricane in Oklahoma is slated for 7 p.m.
