Junior wide receiver set a school record on Saturday.
MEMPHIS – Redshirt junior wide receiver Anthony Miller (Memphis/Christian Brothers High School) was named to the American Athletic Conference's weekly honor roll it was announced Monday.
Miller set a Memphis single game record with 250 yards receiving in Saturday's game against Tulsa. The 200+ yard effort is the first for any receiver in Memphis history and his 12 catches were a career-best, missing the school single game mark in that category by one catch. The 250 yards receiving were the fifth-most by a receiver in FBS football so far this season and gives Miller his fourth 100-yard game of the season and the seventh of his career.
On the season, Miller leads Memphis with 53 catches for 822 yards. His 102.8 yards per game receiving average leads the team and ranks third in the American Athletic Conference. His 53 catches ranks tied for fourth in the conference. Of the Tigers' 19 offensive plays over 31 yards so far this season, Miller has accounted for nine of them. No other Tiger has more than three.
Having played in just 21 career games, Miller is already 12th on the Tigers' all-time receiving list with 1,516 career yards. He needs just 11 more yards receiving to surpass Ryan Scott and take over the 11th spot on the list. He needs 70 more yards to break in to the career top 10 and tie former Tiger Isaac Bruce.
Memphis is back on the road this weekend, making the trip to Dallas to face SMU at 3 p.m. (CT) in a game that will be televised on ESPNews.
