Tigers honored after two wins in Texas
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Senior goalkeeper Maryse Bard-Martel and sophomore forward Elizabeth Woerner have been named the American Athletic Conference Players of the Week. Freshman midfielder Jessica Lisi was recognized on the conference's Weekly Honor Roll.
Bard-Martel helped lead the Tigers to a pair of road wins in Texas last weekend, starting with a 3-1 win over SMU. In that win, she made five second-half saves to preserve the lead. She then posted her sixth shutout of the season and the 24th of her career in Sunday's win over Houston. The Boisbriand, Quebec native, finished the weekend with six saves and just one goal allowed. The award was the second of the season for Bard-Martel after she was honored on Oct. 10.
For her career, Bard-Martel has the second-most wins in program history (42), the second-most shutouts (26), the third-lowest goals-against average (1.17) and the fourth-most saves (250).
Woerner gave Memphis a lightening-fast 2-0 lead over SMU on Friday, by scoring twice in the first five minutes. She opened the scoring after just 57 seconds and then doubled the lead in the fifth minute with her fifth goal of the season.
The Bloomington, Ill. native, has five assists this season to go with her five goals and she is third on the team with 15 points. For her career, she has nine goals and six assists.

Memphis will have the benefit of ending the regular season at home. The Tigers will celebrate Senior Night against USF on Thursday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. before welcoming UCF for the finale on Sunday, Oct. 30 at noon.
