Lady Tigers have three players in the top 10.

MEMPHIS – The University of Memphis women's golf team started the day with a one stroke lead and were holding on to that one stroke lead when they made the turn on to 10 at Ridgeway Country Club when the team turned on the afterburners and stretched that lead to a 17-stroke win of the Memphis Women's Intercollegiate, Tuesday.

Memphis placed three golfers in the top 10, including a third place finish for Michaela Fletcher (220) and a fourth place finish for Leighann Cabush (221). The third place finish for Fletcher was her best finish of the season as she finally got a chance to play in the Lady Tigers' lone home event for the first time in three seasons. As a freshman, she did not play as she was competing for her native South Africa in Japan. Last year, she missed the entire season due to injury. While Fletcher was playing in her first Lady Tiger event at Ridgeway, it marked the final competitive appearance on the course for Cabush, who posted a top five finish in her final home event.

Goldenstein added a top 10 finish, carding a third round 74 to finish with a 226.

Sophomore Sydney Colwill bounced back from a second round 80 to post a 77 in the third round and finish with a 231, good for a tie for 24^th overall. Fellow sophomore Madison Thomas posted an 83 to finish with a 245, tying for 65^th overall.

Memphis also had four individuals competing in the event. Freshman Abby Herrmann carded a third round 80 to finish at 231, good for a tie for 24^th with Colwill. Junior Megan Beane finished 42^nd overall with a 236, while freshman Ellie Youree scored a 79 on Tuesday to finish tied for 56^th overall with a 242. Senior Andrea Cropper also made her final appearance in a competition round at Ridgeway and scored an 83 on Tuesday to finish with a 245, tied for 65^th with Thomas.

Cal State Fullerton's Martina Edberg carded her second round under par of the event in her first experience on Bermuda grass to finish with a 211 (-2) for individual medalist honors. FIU's Camila Serrano finished second with a 218 (+5).

Houston Baptist finished second behind host Memphis, scoring a 912, one stroke ahead of third place Murray State. FIU finished fourth at 915, while Chattanooga was fifth with a 921.

It'll be a short turnaround for the team before the next event. Memphis plays at the Pat Bradley Invitational, starting Sunday, at Lakewood Ranch CC in Florida.
