Tiger Pair to Play in Prestigious Amateur Tournament

Thomas Perrot and Lars van Meijel to compete in Jones Cup Invitational
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Tiger golfers Thomas Perrot and Lars van Meijel will each compete in the Jones Cup Invitational, hosted at the Ocean Forest Golf Club from February 5-7.
Among the notable past participants include Luke Donald, Rickie Fowler, Lucas Glover, Dustin Johnson, Chris Kirk, Jeff Overton, Webb Simpson, Brandt Snedeker, Bubba Watson and Gary Woodland as well as past champions DJ Trahan, Gregg Jones, Nicholas Thompson, Luke List, Kyle Stanley, Patrick Reed and John Peterson..
The Jones Cup was first contested in 2001, and it began as an opportunity to celebrate not only the game of golf, but also the camraderie and fellowship associated with it. The Jones Cup brings together many of the finest amateurs from the United States and abroad for this three-day competition.
The 54-hole individual stroke-play event is played at Ocean Forest Golf Club The Rees Jones design opened in 1995 and has hosted the 1998 Georgia State Amateur Championship, the 1999 Southern Amateur Champhionship, and the 2001 Walker Cup Match.
Beginning in December 2009, the inaugural Jones Cup Junior Invitational was played on the Seaside Course at Sea Island Golf Club. The Jones Cup Junior Invitational is a logical extension of the Jones Cup tradition and spirit of competition and will feature the country's top male junior golfers in a 54-hole stroke play competition.
During the fall season's four events, Perrot has shot even par or better for each of the tournaments, including earning medalist honors at the WKU Kenny Perry Invitational. He is averaging 70.8 strokes per round through a dozen rounds, and has finished inside of the top-10 in each and every tournament.
Lars van Meijel has shot under par in three of four tournaments, including a 10-under round at the Quail Valley Collegiate where he shot rounds of 68, 69, and 69. The medalist at the Pinetree Intercollegiate, he has finished no worse than fifth in any tournament this fall. He has an aggregate score of -17 during the fall, and averaged 70.6 strokes per round in the 12 fall tournament rounds.
