Catlin Lilly Named to American Weekly Honor Roll

Lilly averaged 4.25 kills per match and hit 39.6 percent from the outside last weekend.
MEMPHIS – Junior outside hitter Catlin Lilly (New Albany, Ind./New Albany HS) was named to the American Athletic Conference weekly honor roll after helping Memphis to a 2-1 week last week at the Belmont tournament.
Lilly averaged 4.25 kills per match and hit .396 from her outside hitter slot and posted her first 20-kill outing of the season in a 3-2 loss to Belmont in the championship game.
This is the first weekly honor roll appearance for Lilly and is her second career award from the American Athletic Conference. She was named the league's freshman of the week on Sept. 3 of 2013 after helping the Tigers to a second place finish in Belmont tournament that year.
On the year, Lilly leads Memphis with 3.67 kills per set and 4.48 points a set. Her 14 service aces leads the team. The 20 kills against Belmont pushed the junior from New Albany, Ind., past the 600-career kill mark. She enters this weekend with 619 career kills and now has 50 career service aces.
Lilly and her Tiger teammates will open their home schedule this weekend when the Tigers host the Memphis Invitational, Friday and Saturday. Memphis hosts UAPB in its home opener, Friday, at 2 p.m., then hosts the Tigers of Auburn, Friday, at 7 p.m. in the Elma Roane Fieldhouse. On Saturday, Memphis will face Tennessee Tech at noon, then will host Little Rock, a team that finished last season ranked No. 24 in the country, at 7 p.m. Admission to all University of Memphis home matches is free.
